Antigonus I Monophthalmus (382–301 BC), known as "the One-Eyed," was a formidable Macedonian nobleman and general who became one of the most powerful successors to Alexander the Great. He is best remembered as the founder of the Antigonid dynasty, which ruled over Macedonia for over a century until the Roman conquest in 168 BC.
